Manager Gareth Southgate and members of his squad look back at England's 2018 World Cup campaign, which saw them reach the semi-finals for the first time since 1990 in World Cup: Summer of Love
Manager Gareth Southgate and members of his squad look back at England's 2018 World Cup campaign, which saw them reach the semi-finals for the first time since 1990 in World Cup: Summer of Love
Against all expectations, the young England football squad, under the management of a waist-coated Gareth Southgate, shone at this year’s World Cup in Russia.
The tournament made global stars of the likes of Kieran Trippier and Jesse Lingard, and won striker Harry Kane the coveted golden boot for scoring the most goals.
England even slayed a dragon while there, winning a penalty shootout (against Colombia) on the way to the semi-final, heartbreakingly losing to Croatia in extra time.
Relive all the best moments of this glorious footballing Summer, but you’ll still be left thinking ‘if only’…

As TV Times Highlights Editor I get to hear about all the latest TV shows coming soon. Here at TVT HQ we are in the privileged position of selecting the best programmes from across all the channels and streaming platforms. Our mission is to make it easier for our readers to decide what to watch - and give them lots of choice of genres - all the latest shows, plus some nostalgic choices we call hidden gems, too. My career began with a postgraduate degree in periodical journalism (ahem, yes old school!) in 1991 and I’ve worked in TV media since 2000.
