But one of the reasons it’s so busy is that marketing manager Laura has made a bit of a mistake. Instead of giving a free ride to the first 25 teachers who turn up each day, she’s been allowing the first 100 teachers a day to ride for free.

With a bit of luck her mistake will encourage thousands of school trips to descend on Whitby and Pickering, but for now she’s feeling a bit red-faced.

As carriage and wagon manager Kieran battles to keep the beautiful but ancient coaches on the rails, catering manager Gill is making sure one couple will never forget their journey on the Pullman dining service.
