Kieron Richardson and husband Carl Hyland are expecting twins in the new year. The pair shared the news with an adorable Instagram video and thanked the British Surrogacy Centre.
Hollyoaks star Kieron Richardson has revealed that he and husband Carl Hyland are expecting twins in 2017.
The 30-year-old actor announced the happy news on his Instagram and Twitter accounts.
Posting a video of his Christmas tree decorated with two Disney-themed 'baby on board' signs, Kieron captioned it: "Merry christmas to us thanks to the British surrogacy centre."
The happy couple were also seen opening a massive sign saying "Twins coming 2017" in the heartwarming footage.
It comes just three months after Kieron, who plays Ste on the Channel 4 soap, opened up about the heartbreak of IVF treatment.
In an interview with the Mirror, Kieron said: "We were hoping to have a baby this year. Unfortunately, like anyone who is trying for a baby through IVF – whether they are gay couples or not – it is a lottery.
"We have tried it four times, with the same surrogate mum, and we have fallen into that 30 per cent bracket of it not working. Everyone is fit and healthy, yet it's just not working."
"We won't look for another mother. It is just one of those things. We won't stop until we have our baby.
"We have not given up the fight and are still continuing. We are going to keep trying until it is successful."
Kieron and Carl tied the knot in a lavish ceremony last year and had Kieron's co-stars Stephanie Davis , Jennifer Metcalfe and Gemma Merna as bridesmaids.
Fans and colleagues have rushed to congratulate the couple on their baby news.
Former Emmerdale and Corrie star Hayley Tamaddon wrote: "congrats to both of you darling.. You'll make amazing parents! So happy for you Hugs xxx"
One fan wrote: "omg omg omg sooo happy for you 2 you will be amazing parents" while another tweeted "Congratulations you guys you will make ace parents <3 xxxxx"
