Jeremy Edwards to return to Hollyoaks as an angel

Jeremy Edwards' return to Hollyoaks will come in the form of Tony Hutchinson's guardian angel, it has been revealed.

The actor and television presenter first found fame as Kurt Benson when the soap was launched on Channel 4 in 1995, but his character was killed off in 1999.

However, Jeremy is making a return to the show in a special episode of the soap's late-night spin-off Hollyoaks Later, along with James Redmond, who played Finn Finnigan, and John Pickard, who played Dom Reilly.

Now The Sun has revealed that Kurt will appear in the form of a vision to old friend Tony (Nick Pickard) who is battling cancer and gets caught up in a dodgy deal in Spain and is need of guidance and support.

The special episode - which screens on E4 on October 7 - sees Tony travel to Spain for his half-brother Dom's wedding, with plans to carry out a dodgy deal for bad boy Trevor Royle (Greg Wood).

Danny Dyer also stars as shady ex-pat The White Man and former Hollyoaks star Sarah Jayne Dunn returns as Mandy Richardson.
