Hollyoaks is to get a third new family this year. New producer Paul Marquess, who is in the process of shaking up the Channel 4 teen soap, told Inside Soap magazine that the new clan is 'very much in development'. It recently emerged that the village is to get two new families, the Sharpes and the Costellos, who arrive in June and August respectively. Paul revealed: "Later on in the year, there'll be another family, but at the moment they're still very much in development. "They'll arrive with a story about how kids react when their mother is becoming more and more selfish in what she wants and screwing up the lives of her children in the process." In his interview, Paul also revealed that the McQueen clan are 'definitely staying' in the soap, and will even get a new member. "We're going to bring in a new McQueen who'll change the dynamic of the family quite considerably. Jacqui, in particular, will embark on a new direction, which is great. I think Claire Cooper, who plays her, is a very good actress indeed," he said. Click here to watch whatsontv.co.uk's weekly soaps video preview, the Soap Scoop
