Amazing Greys’ Angela Rippon has no plans to retire

Broadcaster Angela Rippon, who turns 70 later this year, reveals she has no plans to retire…

In an interview with What’s on TV about ITV’s new game show Amazing Greys, which sees talented pensioners challenging younger contestants, Angela reveals she’ll have to be pushed before she stops working:

“When they stop asking me to do programmes I’ll go quietly and get a dog! But when I’m being offered fun jobs like Amazing Greys, why would I say no?

“Just like the ‘greys’ in the show, who see every contestant as a challenge, every time I’m asked would I like to do something different, I see it as a challenge too!”

During her television year career Angela was one of the UK’s first female newsreaders and also presented the original Top Gear and Come Dancing.

She co-hosts Amazing Greys with Paddy McGuinness on ITV on Saturday evenings.
