ITV stands by Ant McPartlin and the star 'will come back' to our screens
Ant and Dec reunited? Despite his troubled personal life, ITV have confirmed they support Ant McPartlin and the presenter will return at a later date.
Declan Donnelly has been left to go it alone since his long-time presenting partner Ant McPartlin stepped down from his TV commitments earlier this year, following his arrest on suspicion of drink-driving.
In April, Ant pleaded guilty to drink-driving was fined £86,000 and given a 20-month driving ban. Outside Wimbledon Magistrates' Court, the star said:
"I let myself down, I let a lot of people down. For that I'm truly sorry."
But despite his troubled times, ITV are standing-by one of their biggest stars, who together with Dec presents three hits shows, Saturday Night Takeaway, Britain's Got Talent and I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here!

During an interview with ITV news about the channel's summer successes including Love Island and World Cup matches, ITV Chief Executive Carolyn McCall cryptically commented:

"So, we wish Ant well, clearly he won’t come back a moment too soon. So I mean, he will come back when he’s well and and when he is ready to come back and ITV will not be putting him under any pressure to come back unless he’s well and fit enough to come back."
I'm A Celebrity is due to return to ITV in November, but it's not yet known if Ant will be back in time to re-join Dec for presenting duties on the long-running reality show.
Simon has long been a fan of soap operas, and especially loves OVER-THE-TOP plots involving evil twins, hair-pulling catfights and natural disasters. Anyone remember the Sunset Beach earthquake/tidal wave? Or when Krystle Carrington got locked in the attic and replaced by look-a-like Rita in Dynasty?!
Simon has written for a variety of TV and childrens’ magazines/websites including Inside Soap, Nickelodeon, What’s On TV, Radio Times, Metro, Girl Talk, Disney Girl, Toxic! and Digital Spy. He has reported LIVE from the red carpet at The British Soap Awards interviewing glammed-up stars from soapland, and hosted a Facebook LIVE session for Metro with Home and Away legend Ray Meagher (Alf "Stone the flamin' crows!" Stewart) to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Aussie soap.
Simon is also co-author of The Treasures Of Coronation Street (Carlton Books)
And the writer and director of (very!) low budget fright flick, Midsummer Night's EVIL and the sequel webisodes series, The Hatchet Woods HORROR.
