Callum Woodhouse reveals Leslie's scorpion and snake horrors in The Durrells finale!

Callum Woodhouse reveals the terrifying reality of filming The Durrells final episode this Sunday! Fans will see gun-mad Leslie Durrell get stung by a scorpion. Talking to What's on TV Callum Woodhouse, who plays Leslie, reveals the scorpion scene was no picnic to film and he was scared throughout!

“In the scene with Leslie and the scorpion there’s a bit of dialogue between Leslie and his brother Gerry (Milo Parker). While we were doing it the director got Milo to hold a snake during the scene… just because!

“I swear it’s one of the hardest things I’ve had to do. I have a huge phobia of snakes. And during the whole scene the snake was crawling over Milo’s arms! It was pretty tough.”

Callum admits he’s full of admiration for the young actor who plays his on-screen brother: “Milo’s only 13-years-old and really impressive. He’ll hold a tarantula, a snake, anything, he just doesn’t mind!”

But despite the terror of working with snakes, Callum revealed he’s looking forward to returning to Corfu for series two later this summer: “I love how The Durrells hits a really nice balance between comedy and serious things. It can be tense and poignant as well as funny. We’d all just love to go back to Corfu so much. This is a really special job.”
