The soap will be getting a blast from the past!

Coronation Street reportedly plans to bring back Kevin Webster's sister Debbie in a shock twist.

Actress Sue Devaney will return to the cobbles for a brief spell this autumn as she appears on the soap for the first time since 1985.

The Metro reports Debbie will be making an explosive comeback when she visits brother Kevin and nephew Jack. Sue, who has also appeared in Casualty, Heartbeat, Shameless and Emmerdale, is reportedly due to start filming soon and will appear in a handful of episodes.

Debbie was last seen leaving Weatherfield with dad Bill and his new wife Elaine for a life in Southampton, though she was mentioned on the soap back in 2011 when the Websters were told she had bought a villa in Turkey.

Actress Sue won't be the only familiar face making a Corrie comeback this year. Angela Griffin will also be returning to Weatherfield after more than 20 years away.

The actress, 42, is set to return as hairdresser Fiona after she quit the soap in 1998 following 250 episodes. It’s believed she will be returning for a shock storyline involving Steve McDonald, who is told he is the father of Fiona’s daughter Emma.

A TV source told The Sun last month, “Angela’s return is short and sweet but it has huge implications for Steve. She’s back on screens and will find out that the dates that he was with Fiona tally up to when Emma was born.”

According to the newspaper, Steve’s mum points out he was dating Fiona around the time Emma was conceived in the upcoming scenes.

“No wonder you failed maths. Count back nine months,” she tells him.

Last year, Angela hinted at a return to the cobbles during an appearance on Lorraine.

“You never know who might go back,” she said. The actress played Fiona from 1992 to 1998.
