Coronation Street has seen it's fair share of drama this festive season, with some controversial characters returning to Weatherfield, as well as the exit of much-loved Corrie veteran Peter Barlow,

But there was one moment in Coronation Street's Christmas Day episode that had viewers all in agreement, as they took to X (formerly Twitter) in their droves to praise the heartwarming moment when Roy gave Evelyn a special Christmas gift.

'What a wonderful scene with Roy and Evelyn on the Christmas day #Corrie, good job really as the rest was utterly dreadful no big dramas, catastrophe's or calamity’s just an attempted laugh at Paul and Billy again something the writers appear to enjoy,' wrote one Corrie fan.

While another said, 'The only people I care about in #Corrie is Roy and Evelyn. Corrie has lost it’s originality.'

While another said, 'That Roy and Evelyn scene was magnificent.'

While another said, 'That was an absolutely lovely half hour of #Corrie from - and that Evelyn and Roy moment was just gorgeous.'

And another said, 'Aw no Evelyn is getting the hots for Roy.'

And another wrote, 'I detect chemistry between Evelyn and Roy.'

And another commented, 'Aw Roy giving Evelyn her present was such a sweet moment.'
