Watch out for Samia!

Coronation Street star Samia Longchambon has revealed to us she once almost ripped off the head of Rita actress Barbara Knox during a salon scene!

The 35-year-old actress, who plays Maria Connor, said poor Barbara almost became a cropper!

“I’ve had so many near misses,” smiles Samia. “It’s so hard to remember your lines and what you’re doing, and actually pretend that you look good at what you’re doing.

“One time I nearly... oh god of all people it was Barbara Knox in the chair, and I nearly ripped her head off!

“We’ve got the old-fashioned hairdryers, with the visor that comes down. In the scene, Rita’s under the visor, and I just pulled it back without lifting it up and Barbara’s head just went with it!”

Samia, who is training to become a reflexologist, also nearly caused a hair disaster for co-star Kate Ford, who plays Tracy Barlow in the ITV soap.

“I nearly cut Kate Ford’s fringe off!” she recalls. “I was shaking afterwards, and I said “Kate I think nearly just gave you a tuft instead of a fringe!”

Looks like Samia won’t be taking up a career in hairdressing anytime soon!

Coronation Street continues on ITV.
