Corrie star Ryan Thomas dumped from Bear Grylls’ show Mission Survive

Coronation Street star Ryan Thomas, who plays Jason Grimshaw, has been dumped from Bear Grylls' Mission Survive show, according to a report.

Ryan reportedly agreed a deal to star in the ITV reality programme, but producers didn't think he could cope with some of the demanding tasks, saying he wasn't in "the right state of mind".

Ryan is due to leave Coronation Street in 2016, with a dramatic exit planned for his character that will involve the Webster and Windass families.

A source told The Sun: “Ryan saw Mission Survive as great exposure. Producers wanted him as he’s a character and popular with the ladies.

"But then everything started to unravel.”

Won earlier this year by DJ/model Vogue Williams, wife of Westlife's Brian McFadden, the physically and mentally challenging show sees celebrities tested on fundamental survival skills over 12 days.

The next series of Mission Survive is due to air later in 2016.
