Couch Potato's Tuesday Trivia: A unique shooting location for Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World

This salty seafaring adventure tells the tale of a battle between a British warship and a French privateer off the coast of South America during the Napoleonic Wars. It stars Russell Crowe as the swashbuckling captain of the British ship, and focuses on his friendship with the ship's surgeon (Paul Bettany) - a man less interested in warfare than he is in the study of the amazing wildlife on the neighbouring Galapagos Islands.

And it's those on-location shots of the Galapagos that are unique. You see, this was the first feature film to shoot there. Normally only documentaries are filmed on the islands.

Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World is showing tonight - Tuesday 1st November - on Sky 1 at 10pm
