The famous tearjerker of a line - "You had me at hello" - uttered by Renée Zellweger in this 1996 romcom, co-starring Tom Cruise, is widely considered one of the best movie quotes ever.
And it was also the inspiration for a 1999 song by country singer Kenny Chesney.
In 2005, Zellweger and Chesney met at a benefit concert and they immediately hit it off. I wonder how they got chatting… what's the betting that the word 'hello' was in there somewhere?
Anyway, the pair tied the knot after a five month whirlwind romance, but sadly the hello turned into goodbye when the marriage was annulled after four months.
Jerry Maguire is showing tonight - Tuesday 25th October - on Channel 5 at 11pm
