Kye Sones has become the latest casualty of The X Factor 2012 - and the second of Gary Barlow's acts to lose out in the sing-off to controversial finalist Rylan Clark. Having already seen off Carolynne Poole earlier in the series, the 24-year-old this time found himself in the bottom two against Kye, one of Gary's two remaining over 28 performers. And after both had performed in the sing-off - with Rylan swapping his normal dance tracks for a rendition of the Des'ree ballad Kissing You, and Kye tackling the Jason Mraz hit I Won't Give Up - the judges once again found themselves unable to decide. Both Gary and Rylan's mentor Nicole voted in favour of their acts, but unlike the previous results show when Louis' vote had sent the result to deadlock and led to Carolynne's departure, this time around he voted to save Gary's act. "It was an amazing sing-off," he said, "But I have to do the right thing and the act I'm sending home is Rylan." Ultimately it was left to Tulisa to deliver the casting vote - and after some deliberation she chose to save Rylan, once again sending the result to deadlock. "When it comes down to it this is not just a singing competition, this is The X Factor," she said. "The act I look forward to seeing most each week is Rylan and I have to go with my heart." While Gary was clearly not pleased with the decision, his reaction was not quite as dramatic as the first results show, which saw him storm off set after Rylan made it through. However he did stick up for his departing act, saying: "I always predicted when you have an act like Rylan in this competition good singers go every week." Six other acts made it straight through to next weekend's show on the strength of the public vote, including Christopher Maloney - who is now Gary's only remaining act, Ella Henderson - who is Tulisa's only remaining act, Louis' groups District 3 and Union J, and James Arthur and Jahmene Douglas, both being mentored by Nicole Scherzinger. So far Nicole is the only judge who still has all of her acts in the competition. Next weekend will see a Best Of British themed show which will feature performances from 2011 winners Little Mix as well as One Direction.
