Australian singer and TV presenter Peter Andre has been named in the line-up for this year's Strictly Come Dancing series on BBC1.
Peter said: “Strictly Come Dancing is an incredible show. I’ve always loved watching it on TV and to be honest I’m flattered to have been asked to take part before, but due to certain work commitments was unable to. I now feel the time is right to give it a go - everything has just clicked into place to do it this year. Wish me luck please… Argh!!”
Peter rose to fame during the 1990s with successful chart-topping singles Mysterious Girl and Flava. He gained further publicity when he appeared as a contestant on the third British series of I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here!
Peter recently married Emily MacDonagh in a wedding in Exeter. He later revealed that the second part of his honeymoon had been put on hold due to his busy schedule this year.
Peter, 42, joins Jeremy Vine, Ainsley Harriott, Kellie Bright, Georgia May Foote, Katie Derham and Carol Kirkwood on this year's Strictly, which will begin screening in September.
