Strictly Come Dancing contestants Pamela Stephenson and Scott Maslen have received some of the highest scores yet as the show reaches its third week. Pamela topped the judges' scoreboard with an impressive 35 points - the most anyone has scored so far this series - for her rumba, while EastEnders star Scott was just one point behind following his quickstep. "It was so romantic," Alesha said of Pamela's rumba which closed the show. "I think everybody here was mesmerised by it." And Scott wowed the judges with his routine. "That was an action packed adventure of a quickstep," Bruno Tonioli told him. "You are very close to being a very good dancer," Len Goodman added. It was also a good night for front-runners Matt Baker and Kara Tointon, both of whom tackled the quickstep. Len complained that Matt's quickstep was a bit too "manic" but Bruno reassured the TV presenter. "You're a great dancer," he said. "Relax a bit more because you can do it." And Kara, who kicked off the show with partner Artem Chigvintsev, was warmly received by the judges and received 31 out of 40 for her efforts. "You looked so comfortable and confident out there," Alesha said. "Overall it was an excellent performance throughout," added Len. Meanwhile, both Felicity Kendal and Peter Shilton were praised for improving on their previous week's performances. "I didn't know you could be so bendy!" Bruno exclaimed after Felicity had performed her rumba with partner Vincent Simone. "You are oozing sex appeal, your flexibility is incredible," Alesha added. And Alesha cited Peter's quickstep as a "massive improvement" when Len went one step further. "If you're in the bottom two tomorrow," he said, "I'll show my bum in Tesco." At the other end of the scoreboard, there was disappointment for Patsy Kensit and Jimi Mistry, both of whom failed to improve upon their previous week's efforts. "It should be smooth, sexy and erotic," Bruno said of Jimi and Flavia Cacace's rumba, "but it looked more neurotic to me." And Patsy's quickstep with partner Robin Windsor wasn't too popular either. "It was all a big horselike," complained Craig Revel Horwood, while Len Goodman was also unimpressed. "The quantity of steps were there," he said, "but unfortunately not the quality." And Anne Widdecombe and Paul Daniels once again found themselves bottom of the heap - although Anne's quickstep with Anton du Beke did win some praise from the panel. "It looked like a quickstep," Bruno said, while even Craig had some words of encouragement for the former MP. "You managed to turn a gorgeous red feather boa into a dishcloth," he pointed out, "but you did at least dance." Paul Daniels, however, was unable to win much support for his rumba with Ola Jordan and finished last on the judges' scoreboard with just 16 points. "It was sweet and I love you for trying," admitted Alesha, but Len was less kind "Parts were magical," he said, "parts were comical. Parts were diabolical." The show also featured footage of Tina O'Brien, who had to pull out of this week's show after catching chicken pox from her two-year-old daughter Scarlet. Her dance partner Jared Murillo said he was "devastated" not to be taking part - especially as several members of his family were in the audience. "We were so looking forward to going out there and doing a good routine," he told Tess Daly. As per the rules Tina has been given a 'bye' through to next weekend's show but if she is unable to dance then she will have to leave the competition. The results of this weekend's show will be revealed on Sunday with one more couple leaving the competition.
