Strictly Come Dancing star Lisa Snowdon has revealed how she tried to persuade John Sergeant not to pull out of the BBC1 show. Former political journalist John announced he was quitting the show earlier this week after facing a barrage of tough criticism from Strictly's judges. But model and presenter Lisa, who was saved in last week's dance-off battle with actress Cherie Lunghi, revealed that she was 'shell-shocked' by John's decision to leave and admitted she tried to change his mind. Lisa told The Sun: "I left this long rambling message on his answerphone - but it turned out that he'd already made his mind up. I was stunned - I'm really sad to lose him - we all are." She added: "John was brilliant because in the midst of all of us doing our dance routines, he comes along and entertains us. It's fantastic - and that's what people want to see on TV." After ending up in the bottom two last week, Lisa is planning to throw herself into Saturday's quickstep in a bid to remain in the competition. Lisa, who dances with Brendan Cole, said: "I think I need to show a bit more of my personality - I worry too much. I need to let go. "I just hope that people vote for us because I'm having the best time of my life." Viewers can see Lisa's quickstep and John Sergeant's last waltz with partner Kristina Rihanoff on Strictly Come Dancing at 6.20pm on BBC1.
