The Taking of Pelham 1 2 3 competition winners

The Taking of Pelham 1 2 3 - Tony Scott’s remake of the 1970s thriller

Our competition to win a Blu-ray disc of Tony Scott’s high-speed remake of classic 1970s thriller The Taking of Pelham 1 2 3  is now closed.  Thanks to Sony Pictures Home Entertainment for supplying the prizes and well done to all the entrants who answered correctly that the two stars of the original film were Walter Matthau and Robert Shaw .

We put the entries in a squad car, which raced across town, cannoning off various obstacles and flipping spectacularly over before disgorging the names of the lucky winners who are Glenn Shaw, Lorna Standerwick, Karen Waddy and Lyn Bosomworth. Well done folks, enjoy your prizes!

Jason Best

A film critic for over 25 years, Jason admits the job can occasionally be glamorous – sitting on a film festival jury in Portugal; hanging out with Baz Luhrmann at the Chateau Marmont; chatting with Sigourney Weaver about The Archers – but he mostly spends his time in darkened rooms watching films. He’s also written theatre and opera reviews, two guide books on Rome, and competed in a race for Yachting World, whose great wheeze it was to send a seasick film critic to write about his time on the ocean waves. But Jason is happiest on dry land with a classic screwball comedy or Hitchcock thriller.
