The X Factor: Mel B chooses her six singers for her judge’s house - and there’s a clear winner

There are those in this year’s X Factor who think they can sing - and then there’s 20-year-old Italian student Andrea Faustini.

He was the star of The X Factor as the six-chair challenge continued on Saturday, September 27.

“All of them boy are now terrified,” Cheryl said to Mel before Andrea had even started to sing.

Mel B has the boys category in this year’s X Factor and, as Simon Cowell told her after Andrea’s performance in the six-chair challenge, “He just made your category good”.

Mel had already filled her six seats when Andrea performed Whitney Houston’s “I Didn’t Know My Own Strength” and brought the judges and the audience to their feet, leaving Mel and Cheryl in tears.

“That was a stunning vocal,” Simon told him.

It was 17-year-old Hayden Leeman who was bumped by Andrea.

Mel’s final six are Andrea, Paul Akister, Jack Walton, Danny Dearden, Jordan Morris and Jake Quickenden, who made it to the judges’ houses last year, only to be sent home by then-judge Nicole Scherzinger.

Next to select their six was Simon, who has the over-25 category, which includes the woman Cheryl loves to loathe, Raign.

Does Raign make it Simon’s judge’s house? She was sitting pretty in a seat in the six-chair challenge at the end of Saturday’s show… But Simon hadn’t heard all of his singers.

Find out who makes Simon's final six and who Louis Walsh puts through in the groups category in The X Factor, ITV, Sunday, September 28, 8.00pm.
