Mavournee Hazel is set to bow out of the show next week, and there is the real reason she has left the famous soap...

Next week will see the departure of fan favourite, Mavournee Hazel, better known to soap viewers as Neighbours' Piper Willis.

Fans have been trying to work out if Piper was set to leave Ramsay Street after Mavournee's social media hinted that she was no longer filming at the Neighbours studios.

The eagle-eyed fans spotted a post from April Rose Pengilly's Instagram, which seemed to confirm the actresses' departure when it appeared Mavournee had been photoshopped into a photo of the female cast celebrating International Women's Day.

And sadly for Piper fans it has been confirmed the rumours are true and the character departs Ramsay Street next week.

But, thankfully, her exit after more than three years on the soap is a happy one, because she is set to go and join the love of her life, Tyler Brennan. Hurrah!

Speaking of her decision to leave the soap, Mavournee told the Herald Sun: "I've never done a film before and I'm attracted to that," she revealed.

The actress, who has already finished filming for Neighbours, also talked about her relocation from Melbourne to Sydney after leaving the show... "I moved for a few reasons - my agent is based in Sydney and a lot of casting directors are there.

"It's the end of an era for me. I've learned so much about myself as an actor and I've had to grow up pretty quick!

"I just have to embrace the unknown. I want to work in Australia for a bit before looking to go overseas.

Piper and Tyler will finally be reunited off screen...

"Internationally, people are seeing Australia as a really malleable place and I want to be here for that."

Mavournee had nothing but good things to say about her time on Neighbours, saying that being on the soap has helped her grow as a person and as an actress.

While we're thrilled that 'Typer' finally get the happy ending they always deserved, there will definitely be a Piper-shaped hole in Ramsay Street.

Keep watching for plenty more Piper drama before she exits next week...
