Today is 30 years since the family movie was first released in the cinema. ITV1 will be showing the documentary Happy Birthday E.T.! on Sunday 16 December at 7pm, telling the story of the film that has been voted the UK's favourite family film ever of its making, of its cast (and what happened to those child stars), and of its legacy.
