Best TV shows on TV tonight
Death in Paradise, 9 pm, BBC One
Dare we say that Death in Paradise is at the top of its game right now? Not bad going for a show that’s a week shy of wrapping up its 12th series! There’s a slight change in personnel at Honoré police station this week as DI Karen Flitcroft (Casualty’s Jaye Griffiths) arrives to lead the latest investigation while newly lovestruck Neville (Ralf Little) is otherwise occupied. Her brusque manner does little to endear her to the rest of the team, who are busy with their most high-stakes case to date. It all builds to a thrilling conclusion that’s set to have lasting repercussions going into next week’s finale…

A League Of Their Own Roadtrip: Southeast Asia, 9 pm, Sky Max, Sky Showcase, NOW
Jamie Redknapp, Micah Richards and the League of Their Own gang hit the road again for more terrifying and hilarious challenges. They start in Singapore, abseiling down the Lotus Building to meet their teammates, Alan Carr and comedian, rapper and chef Big Zuu. Then they attempt a cooking challenge, have a go at artistic swimming and take on Singapore’s famous Formula 1 circuit. Unsurprisingly, both Micah and Jamie are desperate to win – whoever loses the road-trip challenge will have to perform stand-up comedy at London’s Hammersmith Apollo.

Star Trek: Picard, Prime Video
Sir Patrick Stewart boldly goes on one last adventure in this third and final series, bringing back much-missed Next Generation characters including Dr Beverly Crusher (Gates McFadden), Commander William Riker (Jonathan Frakes) and Klingon Worf (Michael Dorn). When Picard receives a distress call from old friend Dr Crusher, he assembles his trusted allies to help, and finds himself on a collision course with a new alien enemy, Vadic (Amanda Plummer). Can the former crew of the USS Enterprise stop Vadic from destroying the Federation?

American stalker and serial killer Joe Goldberg (Penn Badgley) brings murder and mayhem to London in this thrilling fourth series, which is split into two parts, with the second installment due on 9 March. Then, when a night out at an elite members’ club ends in tragedy, Joe finds himself embroiled in a murder mystery. Has the hunter become the hunted?

Best film on TV tonight
Magic Mike, BBC One, 11.30 pm (times vary)
With Magic Mike’s Last Dance in cinemas now, it’s a good time to revisit the 2012 film that started not just a movie mini-franchise but also a reality TV series and a live stage show. Channing Tatum stars as stripper ‘Magic’ Mike in a story supposedly loosely based on his own experiences when he was younger, with Matthew McConaughey, Alex Pettyfer and Joe Manganiello as co-stars. Sequel Magic Mike XXL followed (available on Prime Video), minus director Steven Soderbergh, but he’s on board for the new film, which bodes well. ★★★★ JP
