Two Coronation Street favourites to die tonight as terror grips Weatherfield?
Peter's boat is torched in Coronation Street with Simon trapped on board!
Coronation Street favourite Simon Barlow faces being burnt to death in potentially tragic scenes tonight as Peter Barlow’s boat goes up in flames – and his dad could also perish trying to save him!
Simon this evening shows Aadi and Asha around the vessel using a hurricane lamp he has lit. Later, they extinguish the lamp as they leave while Simon (Alex Bain) stays on board. However, in the darkness a mystery figure knocks over the lamp and the smouldering wick ignites, with Simon trapped!
A huge crowd gathers to watch as Peter’s pride and joy burns. And Aadi and Asha break the terrible news to Peter that Simon is still on board. Can he rescue him in time? And could he also die in the raging fire trying to save his boy?
Talking about the dramatic plot, Chris Gascoyne, who plays Simon’s desperate dad, says: “Peter is terrified when he finds the boat on fire; he’s desperate to get Simon out.
“He can hear Simon screaming and risks his own life to save him.”
The fire sparks a major whodunit storyline in Coronation Street, with Peter’s current lover Abi Franklin (Sally Carman) being the prime suspect for starting the fire. However, might someone else be responsible for starting the blaze… might Peter’s former wife Carla Connor (Alison King) be behind it?

It seems boats in Coronation Street are generally cursed. Years ago Des Barnes (Phil Middlemiss) – remember him?! – spent ages renovating a boat, only then to set it alight! Don't buy a boat in Corrie!!
Coronation Street is on tonight at 7.30pm and 8.30pm.
