X Factor finalist Diana Vickers has been exposed as faker after she was ruled too ill to sing on Saturday's show - but was seen shouting at a bonfire party three days earlier. Diana was allowed to miss Saturday's live show because she was said to be suffering from laryngitis. But after footage was shown on ITV2's The Xtra Factor of Diana shouting at the top of her voice just three days earlier, angry fans are suggesting that the illness could have been a ruse to keep her in the competition, according to reports in the Daily Mirror. Viewer Phil Stephens told the paper: "Diana screeched and yelled without any pain yet she couldn't sing in the show. FiXed Factor should be its correct title." And since hot favourite Laura White was voted off on Saturday night, rumours have been rife about backstage plots on the show with some suggesting that Diana is now being primed for victory. One theory is that Diana simply pulled a sickie because she would have struggled to sing a Mariah Carey song. Others say that Laura and Alexandra are too similar to Leona Lewis and X Factor boss Simon Cowell does not want a rival to his star. But an X Factor spokesperson insisted: "Diana was under strict doctor's orders not to perform." And ousted Laura was quick to defend Diana. She told BBC Breakfast: "Diana was so, so poorly. On the night of the bonfire, she was getting sick then. But we just had to do [the bonfire party] because with the X Factor we have to do things by rules." Diana is not the first talent show contestant to be blighted by illness. In 2001, Pop Idol finalist Rik Waller was forced to pull out due to severe laryngitis and was replaced by Darius Danesh, who came third in the competition.
