X Factor hopeful Tamera in drugs scandal

One of this year's X Factor front-runners has reportedly received a telling off from show bosses after posting about drug use on Twitter.

According to the Sunday Mirror Tamera Foster - who was seen on Saturday night's show as one half of girl band Silver Rock - is said to have posted pictures of drug paraphernalia on the social networking site and tweeted about using marijuana.

The paper reports that the 16-year-old has been reprimanded by producers, with sources saying she was 'mortified'.

"The X Factor does not condone the use of drugs in any way, and appropriate action will be taken against anyone found to be taking drugs while under our care," said a show spokesman.

However a source added that Tamera will be allowed to continue on the show in spite of the discovery.

"Tamera has been spoken to," the insider said. "However bosses realise she was young and impressionable and don't want to ruin her chances on the show because of this."

The X Factor has been rocked by similar scandals in the past, notably when 2011 finalist Frankie Cocozza was booted off during the live shows after boasting of drug use.

He was later replaced by Amelia Lily, who went on to finish third in the final.

Tamera will be seen on Sunday night's show making a bid for boot camp as a solo performer - after the judges suggested that she and bandmate Jerrie Diller would fare better if they went it alone.
