Britain's Got Talent finalists Jonathan and Charlotte have admitted that they were ready to part company and go solo after their first audition. The opera singing duo - who are the hot favourites to win Saturday's final - originally refuted the idea after Simon Cowell suggested that opera-singing Jonathan would fare better on his own. However Charlotte revealed they had previously discussed the idea, saying, "We had a conversation before and we were kind of like 'If they ask one of us to leave the duo how would we deal with it?' "If they give you the choice and it is your actual choice, then OK, then stay together, but if it's kind of on your own or nothing then go, because why would you miss an opportunity like that?". Bookmakers William Hill are offering odds of 4-5 on the pair winning the final ahead of other strongly fancied acts including Ashleigh and Pudsey, musical trio The Loveable Rogues and singer-songwriter Ryan O'Shaughnessy. However reports suggest that Simon Cowell is poised to sign the pair to his Syco label even if they don't win, while Sony boss Rob Stringer will also be in the audience at the final with a view to offering them a US deal. According to The Sun the pair could enter the studio as early as next week to record an album. "Simon knows they will sell a huge number of records. They could even go on to beat Susan Boyle — and she’s sold millions," a source told the paper. A Ladbrokes spokeswoman added that it would be "one of the biggest shocks in TV talent show history" if the pair did not triumph.
