There is confusion over Amanda Holden's future as a judge on Britain's Got Talent, following conflicting reports in the Sunday papers. The Sunday Mirror reports that Amanda, who has been on the panel since the first series in 2007, is unlikely to return after ITV bosses ordered changes to the show to boost ratings. And the next series could in fact have a completely new panel of judges. Simon Cowell has previously said he will only be joining the show at the semi-final stage in 2011, while Piers Morgan could well step down after he landed his own chat show on US TV, replacing veteran host Larry King. Among the names tipped to replace them are chat show host Paul O'Grady and comedian Peter Kay. "Amanda loves BGT and she will be devastated if she is dropped. But this isn't personal, it's business," an insider said. "As far as viewers are concerned, the panel comes as a trio. So with two-thirds of them leaving, the opportunity for a complete overhaul was too good to miss and unfortunately Amanda could be a casualty in that." However the News Of The World claims that Amanda will be staying on even if the other two judges leave. "She got several reassuring phone calls from the bosses insisting they want her back," a source said. The paper also reports that funnyman James Corden is being lined up to replace Piers - and is in advanced talks with show bosses over the role. "Britain's Got Talent is perfect for him as it only takes up a small part of his year," the source added. "He'll still be able to do other projects."
