Susan Boyle attracts big win bet

A bookmaker has taken a £7,000 bet on Susan Boyle to win Britain's Got Talent, its biggest reality TV bet of the year. William Hill said the bet was placed by a woman from Torquay, Devon, who believes that Susan is 'unbeatable'. She placed the bet on the favourite at odds of 4/7 and would win £4,000, giving her a total return of £11,000. The bookies are predicting a million-pound-plus turnover in the next few days, boosted by the 'Boyle factor'. William Hill spokesman Rupert Adams said: "The vast majority of our customers are convinced that Susan is unbeatable and we are taking some very big bets - but Susan Boyle is fast losing her 'underdog' tag and it is possible that all the hype will prove to be her downfall." The bookmaker has placed Susan as the 4/7 favourite to win and is offering 2/1 odds for her to perform in the West End in 2009.
