Casualty newcomer Jaye Griffiths reveals Elle Gardner’s going to create mischief between ex-lovers Connie Beauchamp and Jacob Masters.
Talking to What’s on TV, The Bill and Silent Witness star Jaye revealed Elle’s impact on the ED’s star-crossed lovers, Connie and Jacob.
She also hinted at the extent of Elle’s past relationship with Jacob: “They’re old school friends, so [have] that history and common language and nicknames, and secrets! They have each other’s secrets from when they were children and especially those awkward teenage years! There’s lots of room there!”
…Room for mischief! Particularly now Elle has twigged staff nurse Jacob (Charles Venn) and clinical lead Connie (Amanda Mealing) are lovesick for each other.
Jaye laughed: “Connie’s not entirely enamoured, it would be safe to say. Connie – or Mrs Beauchamp, depending on her mood - is jealous of Elle’s relationship with Jacob.
“Once Elle realises what’s going on… there’s mischief to be made!”
Jaye elaborated on Elle's character: “Elle sees the world as a friendly universe… she’s very caring to the patients, but is quite a blunderbuss… Jason Durr’s character David finds [her over-familiarity] intensely irritating”
