Coronation Street is gearing up for its most violent Christmas special ever - with four fights and an attempted murder. There's very little festive cheer for the residents of Weatherfield on Christmas Day, as Maria punches Tony and all hell breaks loose in the Platt household, according to reports in The Sun. First widow Maria Connor, played by Samia Smith, punches Tony Gordon because she is convinced he killed her husband Liam. Evil Tony, played by Gray O'Brien, who has already throttled OAP Jed Stone (Kenneth Cope), warns Maria: "I wouldn't ever, ever do that again. There's still plenty of space next to your husband and baby in that graveyard for you to join them." Elsewhere, feisty teenagers Tina McIntyre (Michelle Keegan) and Rosie Webster (Helen Flanagan) kick off the carnage at Gail Platt's Christmas dinner. Gail (Helen Worth) invites the Websters round to celebrate but Tina, David Platt's girlfriend, and Rosie soon come to blows. Tina starts flirting with young newcomer Gary Windass (Mickey North) and jealous Rosie calls her a 'tart'. Tina replies: "I'm not the one who dated a kidnapper twice my age", which sparks an almighty catfight. Gary and David (Jack P Shepherd) start another fight when Gary brags to David: "Your bird's gagging for me mate. I'm going to have her and there's nothing you can do about it." Further chaos ensues when Joe McIntyre (Reece Dinsdale) settles an old score with Eddie Windass (Steve Huison) by showering him with Christmas dinner leftovers.
