Coronation Street shock for Tracy: Rob’s back…and he’s got a big secret

Coronation Street have announced that Rob Donovan (Marc Baylis) will make his presence felt again in Weatherfield and that is exciting for viewers - but will it send a shiver of excitement or fear down Tracy Barlow’s spine?

Murderer Rob will reappear in prison later this year,  a year after he was jailed for killing Tina McIntyre (Michelle Keegan) after his sister, Carla Connor (Alison King), shopped him to the police.

“I can’t wait to play Rob again and see what he has up his sleeve,” says Marc. “One thing is certain: prison won’t stop Rob from affecting lives on the Street.”

And Rob starts to stir up trouble by sending a number of visiting orders to some Weatherfield residents.

We reckon one of those orders will be for Tracy (Kate Ford).

It doesn't sound like Rob is a reformed character and we think he will persuade Tracy to do his worst, while he calls the shots from his cell.

So, will Tracy have to choose between her rekindled romance with ex-husband Robert Preston (Tristan Gemmill) or a life of dirty dealings with nearly-husband Rob?

“Rob’s appearance spells trouble and it soon becomes clear that he holds the key to a huge Connor family secret,” says Coronation Street. “It’s one he could use to his advantage.”

Will it be something to do with the new Connors who are headed to the Street - Aidan (Shayne Ward), Johnny (Richard Hawley) and Kate (Faye Brookes)?

Or will Rob and his secret be the reason Carla leaves Weatherfield? We know she’s going - and we doubt Rob has forgiven her for helping put him behind bars.

Coronation Street continues on ITV, Monday, August 10, 7.30pm.
