Coronation Street's Fiz Stape will reportedly name her baby Hope in the aftermath of the show's devastating tram crash. Key characters will die in the disaster that hits the cobbles as part of the show's 50th anniversary celebrations. According to the Sun, distraught Fiz, played by Jennie McAlpine, chooses the optimistic name for her new daughter to help herald a new era on the Street. A source told the newspaper: "The Great Tram Crash will make great compulsive viewing, but bosses don't want it to be all doom and gloom. "The birth of baby Hope will show viewers and characters alike that life goes on. "There will be some really tender scenes. Everyone loves a baby and the residents will be queueing up to meet her." Fiz is still unaware of the part her husband John (Graeme Hawley) played in the death of Colin Fishwick.
