Michelle Keegan: Corrie plot put me off babies

She might be about to give birth in Coronation Street - but Michelle Keegan has admitted it'll be a while before she plans to repeat the experience for real.

The actress, who plays Tina McIntyre in the soap, told the Sun that being pregnant and working with a newborn on screen has put her off wanting to become a mum herself, at least for the time being.

“I love babies, but working with a newborn has changed my outlook," Michelle revealed. "I’m now thinking I’m not ready yet — give me a few more years.”

Viewers will see events in Weatherfield take a dramatic turn this week when Tina - who is acting as a surrogate for Izzy Armstrong and Gary Windass - goes into premature labour.

And Michelle - who recently won the British Soap Award for sexiest female for the fifth time - said Corrie fans could change their mind about her sex appeal when they see her giving birth.

“When people watch those scenes I think they’ll look at me totally differently," she admitted.

“I was so nervous about the birth. When I found out I was going to be pregnant, that was the one thing I was dreading.

However she admitted it was realatively easy in the end, saying: “It took about two hours to film and we did it six times. I hope it’s that easy when I give birth — it was painless.”
