Dancing On Ice: Samia is out

Samia Ghadie's Dancing On Ice journey came to an end on Sunday night as she became the latest celebrity to be voted off the show.

The Coronation Street actress had narrowly escaped the chop on last weekend's show after finding herself in the bottom two against Keith Chegwin.

However her luck ran out this week as she went head to head with boxer Luke Campbell in a bid to win a semi-final place.

And despite her best efforts - overcoming a groin strain to take to the ice - the judges were unanimous in saving Luke after both had performed their 'save me' skates.

Jason Gardiner praised her "for coming out and skating under such duress," but chose to save Luke, telling him: "You finally understand what it is I've been asking of you."

And Karen Barber admitted the decision was "difficult," saying: "Both couples desperately want to be here next week - but I save Luke."

Samia, however, appeared almost relieved to be leaving Dancing On Ice following her injury.

"I'm glad that tonight was our last night because we went out on a high," she said. "I've loved every single second of it."

And when asked whether she would stay friends with skating partner Sylvain Longchambon - whom she is rumoured to be dating - she coyly said, "I think we'll keep in touch, won't we?"

Earlier in the show Samia had finished bottom of the judges' scoreboard, despite picking up her highest marks yet - 28 out of a possible 40.

The props-themed show had seen her initially sat at a make-up table as the theme from Coronation Street played, before she performed a routine to the Roxette hit The Look.

Four contestants - Matt Lapinskas, Luke Campbell, Beth Tweddle and Gareth Thomas - now remain to battle it out in next weekend's semi-final.

Sunday's show proved particularly good for Matt, who incorporated a series of hats in his routine, and picked up 36 points from the judges - the highest score of any contestant so far this series.
