Dancing On Ice skater Matt Evers took to the rink sporting a large plaster on Sunday night after suffering an injury to his forehead during rehearsals. The Canadian professional was left needing medical attention after his partner Jorgie Porter accidentally sliced his head with the blade of her skate while practising a neck spin movement for their routine on Sunday's rock-themed show. And viewers saw the Hollyoaks star - who is one of the favourites to win the series - crying inconsolably after the incident. Fortunately Matt was well enough to perform on the show despite his noticeable injury - and the pair once again went on to head the judges' scoreboard, with 26.5 out of 30 for their dramatic routine to Evanescence's Bring Me To Life. "Your performances are all encompassing, they are theatrical," Robin Cousins told the pair. "It absolutely worked." "You get my attention every second," Katarina Witt added. Matt's injury is the latest in a catalogue of calamities that have plagued both contestants and skaters this series. Two weeks ago Jennifer Ellison suffered a cut to her head when she hit herself with the blade of her skate during her routine on the live show. Charlene Tilton and Corey Feldman also came a cropper with shoulder injuries, while professional skater Sylvain Longchambon pulled out before the start of the series after ruptuing a bicep, and Chesney Hawkes also dropped out with a broken leg - to be replaced by Chico. Sunday night's show also saw strong performances from the other front-runners Matthew Wolfenden and Chico. "You always perform, you are a born performer," Louie Spence told Chico, while Katarina said of Matthew's routine, "Last week was more challenging and more clean, this week it’s rock and roll and you rocked the ice and the audience." Jennifer Ellison and Chemmy Allcott also fared well with their performances, Jennifer offering a dramatic routine to Bonnie Tyler's Total Eclipse Of The Heart and Chemmy skating to Kelly Clarkson's recent single Stronger. "I see a different Jen this week," Katarina said of the actress's performance, while Louie told Chemmy, "It was by far your strongest performance." Meanwhile Sam Nixon also scored his best mark of the series so far, landing 22 points for his routine to The Killers' Human - although Corrie's Andy Whyment finished bottom of the heap with 19.5 after taking on Oasis' Don't Look Back In Anger. "I liked how you were smiling and performing," Katarina told Sam, "It was such an enjoyment to watch." However the judges weren't so keen on Andy's performance. "The skating was nice, clean and in control," Robin said. "But it was absolutely flat and emotionless."
