Former Corrie star Lucy-Jo Hudson talks about the surprise impact of her guest role in BBC1 daytime soap Doctors
She starred in a guest role in 2016 as Rhiannon Davis, a depressed new mum who was responsible for the death of her baby.
Lucy-Jo told What's on TV on the Soap Awards red carpet: "I'm still in shock that we've been nominated for the storyline, that my character was a Villain of the Year. I didn't think I was, but it's brilliant, I'm absolutely made up...
"It's not your stereotypical villain at all. She's quite a depressive character who kills her own child in the end, so I can see where they've got it from."
Lucy-Jo also revealed she had been cast in new BBC1 drama Age Before Beauty, co-starring with Robson Green and Sue Johnston in the story of a Manchester beauty salon.
She said: "It's Debbie Horsfield, the writer of Cutting It, a new version of that, so I start that in a couple of weeks. I cannot wait to do. I play quite a downtrodden character, but I can't say too much, but I'm so excited to be a part of that. "
