Nothing will stand in the way of Mick's wedding, EastEnders' Danny Dyer tells Soaplife…
How are Mick and Linda feeling in the run up to their big day?
"Mick’s a little bit more confident than Linda [Kellie Bright]. She’s got a bit of anxiety about the whole thing, but that will unravel and people will soon understand why."
What can we expect at Mick’s stag do?
"The greatest stag do that has ever been or ever will be. It was perfect. I couldn’t have asked for a better stag. I had a lot of input in it and I was really thrilled. They said 'What would Danny’s stag do be like?' so we’re crossing over with the real world a bit. It’s the greatest stag and I hope my stag can be a quarter as good as Mick Carter’s."
Can you give us a little tease about the wedding?
"It’s a beautiful wedding. Of course it has a few hiccups along the way but Mick is determined to marry his L. He won’t let anything stand in the way of that."
How determined is Dean to destroy Mick and Linda’s happy day?
"Dean [Matt Di Angelo] is really determined to stop the wedding. It’s not just about stopping the wedding though, there’s more to it than that."
We hear there's a lake stunt… what was filming that like?
"Very hard work, especially the underwater stuff. Physically, mentally… but it’s great to get out of Albert Square. It’s a beautiful thing working in The Vic, but to go on location is always great. It’s shot beautifully. But it was difficult. It was hard jumping into a lake in November. "
What’s it been like working with Matt on this storyline?
"I love Matt. I needed a nemesis in the show and it definitely brought out Mick’s character more, but it’s a shame it had to be my brother. I’ve got a beautiful line in the script where I say 'Things could have been so different'. "
Will Mick and Linda have a happy ending?
"It’s EastEnders. There’s never a happy ending."
Do you have a New Year’s Resolution?
"I don’t do New Year’s resolutions. I just don’t see the point in them. I always strive to be a better person and I think that should be enough, really, but I will have a good New Year."
