EastEnders star Charlie Brooks, whose character Janine was last seen on a train to Paris after being released from jail, is to co-star with her real-life daughter Kiki in CBBC drama, The Dumping Ground.
Charlie guests in episode one of the new series as Stephanie Branston, who is looking to foster a child with her footballer husband, while nine-year-old Kiki plays Maude, the daughter of one of the other couples attending a fostering day at the fictional children's home.
Charlie is one of several guest stars in the upcoming third series of the show, a sequel to Jacqueline Wilson's Tracey Beaker dramas.
Neil Morrissey will play Keith, who is regular character Johnny’s abusive step-father. Having previously left his family, Keith returns and threatens the domestic stability that Johnny’s mother has created for Johnny, Tee and her new baby Hope. Other newcomers to the cast include Ray Emmet Brown (Prime Suspect, Outlaws), Stuart Manning (Hollyoaks), Martina Laird (Casualty), Dai Bradley (Kes) and Dallas Campbell (Bang Goes The Theory).
The series is currently being filmed in Newcastle for broadcast next year.
