Emmerdale Jason Merrells tells Soaplife Declan’s in for a shock when his ex-wife moves into Home Farm with him... If Ella doesn’t sign over Home Farm as planned will that mean she’s the owner and not Declan? "For now, yes, but he’s not too worried. They’ve always had a fiery relationship and he thinks she’s just winding him up by stalling." When does he find out she’s not? "Declan is enjoying his house-warming party, flirting like mad with Alicia, when Ella and their daughter Mia turn up unexpectedly. He’s stunned when Ella announces they are staying in Emmerdale and they’ll be working and living together. It’s now glaringly obvious Ella wants to keep Home Farm." Does Ella want Declan back too? And would he want her? "There are still some feelings between them – you can just tell. They split up because they weren’t getting on any more, but maybe they should have tried to work things out." In that case is it really a good idea for him to sleep with Alicia while Ella and Mia are right there in the house too? "I think Declan wants to prove to Ella that he’ll do what he wants whether she’s around or not. But he’s not serious about Alicia. He just wants to have some fun and play the field. He can tell Ella’s a bit jealous and that’s the icing on the cake for him." Will Declan and Ella really be able to live in the same house and yet lead separate lives? "He thinks she’ll soon get bored with the idea. Or at least he hopes so. It’s not looking good though when she interferes with his new decor plans… He’s gone a bit Hugh Hefner with all this bachelor-type Eighties furniture, but Ella hates it and sends it back." Sounds like she’s really staying. Will they get back together? "There’s still something between them. They’re two people who are estranged, but probably should be together, constantly arguing but having this real connection too." Home Farm hasn’t been lucky. Its previous owners – the Tates, Kings and Wyldes – all came to sticky ends. Does that worry Declan? "A curse on Home Farm? Even if there’s been one in the past, there won’t be now Declan’s in charge – that’s the way he sees it. Whether he’s right to feel so confident, we’ll have to wait and see..."
