Emmerdale star Emma Atkins has hinted that her latest storyline as Charity Macey is going to be a bit like something out of a horror film.
Charity is set to be whisked away by husband Declan (Jason Merrells) for a romantic mini-break in a remote cottage in the middle of the woods. Declan's sister Megan Macey (Gaynor Faye), Charity’s arch enemy, and her son Robbie Lawson (Jamie Shelton), turn up at the cottage to confront her, only to find it deserted.
The story is being kept strictly under wraps, but Emma hinted there is plenty of action.
“We had a couple of days on location, which were two of the most exciting days I’ve ever had on set.
“I was pushed to my absolute limit. It was very challenging, and I was quite anxious before filming. I’d never been to that kind of place before, physically or emotionally.
“I’m knackered just thinking about it, but I was so happy to be working with Jason on those scenes.”
Jason added: “Declan and Charity have really earned this storyline. Questions will be answered - although maybe not in the way you would expect.

“It was all directed by the same director who worked on Cameron's siege at the Woolpack last year, and it was like we were making a movie!”
