Slowly but surely, Robert and Aaron’s secret affair is becoming public - and that’s dangerous for some, reveals Emmerdale’s Ryan Hawley...
Chas is in real danger from Robert, isn’t she?
“Yes. She tricks him into admitting he and Aaron are still seeing each other… Aaron’s gone missing on one of his runs and Robert and Chas [Lucy Pargeter] go out looking for him together. Chas tells Robert that Aaron [Danny Miller] is having this emotional difficulty and Robert says, ‘He’s all right when he’s with me, it’s because of you’. Chas then says, ‘So you are back on’ and then says that she’s going to tell Chrissie.”
But Robert plans to stop her…
“They’re out in the woods and he pleads with her, but can see he’s not getting anywhere. She walks off, thinking she has the upper hand and Robert, who’s at the end of his tether, sees a rock on the ground, picks it up and chases after Chas, who is none the wiser.”
Does he hit her?
“You’ll have to wait and see!”
We know Chas makes it back to the village…
“And Robert gets in touch with this guy, a very shady character, and orders him to bump Chas off and make it look like an accident.”
Would he really kill Aaron’s mum?
“He needs to tie up the loose ends and stop Chas but, during the day, various things make him question whether or not he’s doing the right thing. Chas then says that she has had a word with Aaron and won’t tell Chrissie [Louise Marwood]. At that point Robert has no need to kill Chas.”
So he calls off the hitman?
“He tries to, but can’t get through to him on the phone.”
Is Chas a goner?
“I can’t tell you. But I can say that these are some of the most tense scenes I have filmed on Emmerdale and the story is building into a big crescendo.”
