Former Emmerdale' actress Sian Reeves has confessed she would love to star in Coronation Street - as it would give her a chance to follow her daughter up North. Sian - who played Sally Spode in Emmerdale and is currently appearing in the Sky sitcom Mount Pleasant - revealed that such a role would allow her to stay close to Bessie, who is heading off to university. "I would love to do Corrie. EastEnders would be good as well because it's near home - although soon Bessie's going to be off getting drunk at Leeds or Manchester University so maybe I can go and join her," Sian said. "You do work much harder in a soap, because the episode turnover is just horrific, but I'd never say no because something interesting might come up." She added that working on a soap was quite different from other acting jobs, and that it wasn't suitable for everybody. "You have to have a certain sort of memory for the quick intake of lines, and I don't know how some of them do it," Sian admitted. "But then lovely Nigel Havers, he absolutely adores Corrie, because he loves doing things that quickly." And despite having left Emmerdale two years ago, after Sally was put into a mental hospital following her relentless pursuit of Ashley Thomas (John Middleton), she hasn't ruled out a return to the Dales at some point. "I did really well out of Sally Spode," Sian said. "I had a lovely time up there with Charlotte Bellamy and John Middleton, who play Laurel and Ashley, and I'm still in touch with them. "It was a gift of a role, and I have to thank Mr Gavin Blythe who sadly died in 2010, which was just horrendous. He was the one who championed me, and I just thought he was so brave to bring a predator into the village. Sally's still in a mental home, so I could actually come back."
