Moving documentary to mark the 50th anniversary of the Aberfan disaster...

This month marks the 50th anniversary of the Aberfan disaster, in which 144 people – 116 of them children – died when 100,000 tonnes of slurry from the colliery tips above the Welsh village of Aberfan poured down the hillside, engulfing Pantgal Junior School and surrounding houses.

In the wake of the tragedy, local woman Marilyn Brown, whose daughter perished at the school, finished organising a concert that had been planned. It led to the formation of the Young Wives' Club, a group of mothers who have met every week for the past 50 years.

In this moving documentary, featuring archive footage and first-hand testimonies, the story of how these women dealt with their grief is told.
