Miss Marple was no doubt picturing a relaxing weekend with tea and cake when Lady Virginia – daughter of her late cousin – invited her to stay at her family home, a country estate called Chimneys.

But the sleuth doesn't get a break even at family gatherings as she's soon unravelling a case of murder, blackmail and a stolen diamond!

Julia McKenzie puts in a perfect performance as Miss Marple, and watch out for some solid guest turns from Edward Fox, Dervla Kirwan, Ruth Jones and Mathew Horne.
