‘I’m going on the trip of a lifetime – except I’ve got to take my mum'. After the success of his journey to Sri Lanka last year to learn more about his heritage, at the behest of his mother, Shanthi, comedian Romesh Ranganathan is now visiting his family in North America – and, this time Shanthi insists on accompanying him.

Around his mother, Romesh instantly reverts to a petulant teenager, annoyed that mum is crashing the party.

This six-part series begins in Florida, where Romesh wants to do 'cool American stuff', like driving monster trucks, but his mum wants to learn to 'grow some herbs' and listen to gospel music.
