Big Mac’s big gamble!

Big Mac has a big problem. The healthcare assistant is broke!

With Big Mac’s bank account at zero and friends Noel and Honey pressurising him to take his turn in their cookery competition, the former soldier decides to pawn his service medal, rather than reveal he’s on his uppers!

Big Mac doesn’t have time to dwell on the heartbreaking decision however, when an injured man called Keith falls into the pawnshop bleeding and begging for help!

Keith claims he was robbed, but back at the hospital confesses to Big Mac he actually stabbed himself, desperate to cover up that he’s gambled away money from his brother’s business!

Realising Mac also has money troubles, Keith talks Big Mac into betting all his pawn money on a horse! Unfortunately the horse – Hard of Hearing – falls at the final fence. Unable to come clean to Honey and Noel, a desperate Big Mac grabs some food from the hospital food bank. But unknown to the former porter, Honey has spotted him!

Meanwhile, Connie is secretly distraught her daughter Grace has moved to New York to live with her father. Deeply unhappy, Connie takes her anger out on Rita, and starts a malicious hate campaign against the new nurse manager!

Elsewhere, Honey is confused by Ethan’s behaviour. The doctor is pretending not to be interested in her since their near-kiss last week. Help comes from an unexpected source when junior doctor Lily gives the tea lady some advice on how to get her man!

Also, Tess is back and enjoying the fact she’s no longer be working in a managerial position.
