She may be suffering from morning sickness, but that doesn’t stop Shelagh from proving her mettle when an explosion blasts through a warehouse. After she helps the injured, the usually timid doctor’s wife speaks out boldly about health and safety.

There’s a tough time in store for Patsy, too. Torn as to whether she should visit her ailing father, she helps Penny and Derek, a doting couple with achondroplasia, a form of dwarfism, who are having their first baby. Medics warn them not to expect a happy outcome, but Penny wants to prove them wrong…

Meanwhile, Sister Ursula continues her reign of terror, unleashing a rebellious side of the nuns and midwives!
