In his third outing as New York cop John McClane, Bruce Willis has to deal with a terrorist holding the city to ransom.
However, all is not as it seems with the bombing attacks...
Willis is on form, Jeremy Irons makes a good, vengeful villain and Samuel L Jackson impresses as Willis' reluctant civilian sidekick.
The plentiful supply of stunts, special effects and explosions are handled with skill by director John McTiernan (who also made the original 1988 movie), especially a spectacular subway crash.
