Mark Williams returns with a new series of the crime drama, Father Brown, with Lady Felicia and Mrs McCarthy taken hostage when a train robbery goes awry
A kidnapping and murder await the sleuthing priest, Father Brown
Mark Williams is back as the padre with a talent for solving crime for a new daytime 10-part series.
This first mystery sees Mrs McCarthy (Sorcha Cusack) and Lady Felicia (Nancy Carroll) taken hostage by a pair of armed robbers.
The pair were on a train with a famous opera singer, whose jewels the robbers were after. In all the confusion the opera singer is shot dead, and Mrs M and Lady Felicia are bundled into the back of a van.
But these are no ordinary hostages!
They quickly escape, tidy up, make a lovely lunch and discover the real reason the robbers held up the train.

A great mystery with strong characters and performances, it’s followed by a new case tomorrow.
